Erasmus Programme
The British Council recently announced that the number of UK students participating in the Erasmus Programme in 2010/2011 was the highest it has been since the programme was launched in 1987. Please follow this link to read the full story.

Recently Attended Events:
UK NEC is organising an All-Ireland Diploma Supplement Event at Queens University in Belfast on the 16th November 2011, in collaboration with the British Council, the National Europass Centre for the Republic of Ireland, and the Higher Education Authority for Ireland.
The day will run from 09.00-16.00 and the purpose of the event is to promote Diploma Supplement uptake and discuss implementation. There will be key speakers from the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Anyone from the UK and Ireland who is interested in finding out more about the Diploma Supplement is invited to attend. For more information or to register, please email frazer.wallace@europass.org.uk
Employers and Employment Advisers from across Europe and the EURES network will be in attendance offering advice and guidance on applying for work in Europe. Europass will attend to advise individuals on the benefits of using the Europass CV and Language Passport to support their applications.
The UK NARIC Annual Conference, in partnership with IELTS will be a two day event that will be centred on key themes:
- Education Fraud
- Credential Evaluation
- Recruiting non UK nationals
- Immigration
Organised by the University’s Careers Centre the fair is open to all students and it is an opportunity to discuss opportunities after graduation.
A careers information day offering current students, graduates and postgraduates at Cardiff University careers information, advice and guidance from over 50 organisations, promoting an exciting range of careers spanning a variety of sectors and industries.
Careers Europe hosts their annual conference in Leeds this year. The conference will focus on the latest developments in careers guidance policy both in the UK and Europe. Europass will attend to report on feedback from its involvement with job seekers and will seek to gain a better understanding on how guidance is delivered by partners across Europe
WorldSkills is the largest vocational skills competition in the world. It is aimed at young people who are interested in finding out more about careers in skills, teachers, parents, schools, employers, businesses, sponsors, partners and stakeholders.
The UK NEC supported the Council of Europe's European Day of Languages on the 26th September 2011 by attending the European Language Label/Business Language Champions Award Ceremony at the European Commission’s offices in London.
Europass had a stand at the ceremony to promote the Language Passport and showcase the Language Passport iPhone Application.
The UK NEC will have a stand at this incredibly
popular Graduate job fair. The 2010
event attracted 1200 students and 65 exhibitors and the UK NEC was able to
provide information, in particular, regarding the CV and Language Passport to
assist applicants demonstrate their ability, skills and knowledge.

The UK NEC will be presenting at the Leonardo
Start-Up Event held by ECORYS for successful Leonardo Lifelong Learning
Programme applicants.
The UK NEC will be presenting on the use of the Europass Mobility Document for
the recording of mobility placements, and recent developments in the Europass
portfolio.
This conference looks into improving international mobility of students. It encourages partnerships between UK and international HEIs which allow students an ‘experience abroad'.
The Europass presentation will be entitled "Standing out from the crowd: how students can make their skills better understood" and will provide information on how students' mobility experiences can be recorded, and their qualifications and skills better understood, through utilisation of the Europass portfolio.
